Freelance Sr FX Artist / Sr 3D Generalist

Josh Harrison graduated from Gnomon in 2020 when he began his career in film as an FX Artist at Luma Pictures. There, he worked on a variety of projects, including Godzilla vs. Kong, The Eternals, Tomorrow War, and WandaVision. After transitioning into TV and commercials at MPC and The Mill, he continued working on titles like American Horror Story, House of the Dragon, Diablo IV, and Destiny 2.

Despite primarily using Houdini in the industry, Josh has maintained a strong 3D generalist background and enjoys working with a variety of software to add more tools to his arsenal and explore different workflows.

Josh and I were both part of the VFX program at Gnomon. Even as a student, it was obvious he was passionate about creating digital art. I was always impressed by his Best of Term submissions, which already demonstrated his professionalism and level of finesse.

I met Josh during my time as FX Supervisor at Luma. He proved to be a really driven artist, capable of creating some visually stunning effects, and carrying it all with a great attitude. He was an actively vocal member of the team, easy to discuss strategy with and was generally really fun to work with. I've enjoyed watching him continue to push himself as an artist over the years. Especially when left alone to his own creative instincts, like we see in his personal projects.
